One of the largest Quantities of chemicals used for leather processing is fatliquors. Fatliquors are used in the last of the wet processes involved in the manufacture of leather and plays a major role in determining its final feel, flexibility and softness.

Finishing Auxillaries
Finishing chemicals and auxillaries are used after the wet-processing of leather is completed. Leathers are set, sammed, dried, and staked. Then finishing chemicals like acrylic and raisin binders, pigments, pull-up oils and pull-up waxes, field modifiers and lacquers are used to finish leathers. The final look and feel of leathers is determined by these chemicals only.
